Brown & Brown CPA, P.C. founded in 1981, is a member of the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and participates in the AICPA Tax Division and peer review program.
Our practice includes the traditional areas of accounting and auditing, tax compliance, tax planning, and financial advice. The firm’s use of advanced computer technology was featured in a book published by the AICPA in 1998 by Anita Dennis entitled, “The Virtual Office”. A magazine article published in the July 1998 Journal of Accountancy followed, featuring our firm.

Our People
Steven D. Brown, CPA, Principal
Steven Brown heads the firm’s accounting and auditing services. Mr. Brown brings over 30 years of experience in government contracting, real estate construction and management, trade contractors, nonprofits, wholesale distribution, and computer services. He maintains memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and published numerous articles as technology editor of The Tax Advisor, published by the AICPA. Mr. Brown is a graduate of Wake Forest University, served as a Virginia representative to the While House Committee on Small Business, and has presented lectures to the US Department of State.
Beth K. Brown CPA, Principal
Beth Brown heads the firm’s tax compliance group. Ms. Brown brings nearly 30 years of experience in tax and accounting for real estate construction and management, nonprofits, and service businesses. She is a graduate of Georgetown University, maintains a membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and represents the firm on the Tax Section of the AICPA. Ms. Brown also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce and has previously served as the Chamber’s treasurer.
